NORTH READING, MASS. – (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Teradyne (NYSE: TER) announced a purchase order placed by Zhenjiang Acetec Semi-conductor Co., Ltd. (Acetec) of 20 J750ExHD systems for digital wafer handling and final test of mobile internet devices. Acetec’s new Production Test Factory in Zhenjiang, China, is planned to be completed in Oct., 2013. Teradyne will install these systems in the new Production Test Factory from the third quarter in 2013, before its completion.

Ken Wang, G.M. and CEO of Acetec, said: “We choose J750ExHD systems as Acetec’s major ATE platform due to its coverage of the most extensive low-cost consumption device market. More choices for our system will expand Acetec’s production test service market in the rapidly developing image sensor and mobile internet device sectors. Fabless and IDM semiconductor companies have already began to seek J750 capability brought by Teradyne’s new HD devices, whereas our new factory in Zhenjiang will enable them to use all systems at a single location”.

Jason Zee, Teradyne’s Manager of Consumer Business Unit, said: “Teradyne is pleased to cooperate with Acetec and expand business in China’s semiconductor test service market through J750ExHD. J750™ products, especially J750ExHD and IP750Ex, will expand Acetec’s capabilities to offer low-cost production test services for equipment manufacturers serving the most fast-growing sectors in semiconductor equipment market.”

By virtue of over 4,000 systems installed (covering services for over 150 clients), J750 series have become a standard test system for low-cost consumption System on Chip (SoC) device market, such as image sensor, microcontroller, etc..
